Hey all,

www.arcaderage.com - for somereason the games played today will not reset per day :S

Things I still need to do:
activate the member system
add new games
etc

I may also be willing to make some premade templates for free for PHPArcadeScript, if the owner is keen on the idea.

Hello,

As noted in the readme.txt, to get the Today's Games reset, you'll need to run the resethits.php file via cron ... you can do so like:

We do advise you, for security reasons, to rename the resethits.php file to any name you choose.

you come to the problam is that if no one like, me or jack design a website for you guys, for cost. You guys will all look the same site, people whould get easily bored.

Thinking that all the sites are the same. Meaning jack gets more visitors, comeing as his site is unique, different. Or rather, more unique.

The game quality is more important than the overall layout of the site. Just look at http://addictinggames.com/ <- Simple layout, but addicting games.

Flashable sis a ok website, although the logo is WAY to big, color sceme is not that nice.

Its just a customiseation of the old template.

Jack has done a total re-deisgn, so have i.

And as seen as he is a designer, a well known one in the scene. Its not dboutfull he has made the best tamplate, the one NuWeb uses was designed by jack, but i implemented it into the script.


ALthough the stats show its not going so well:

Content....and NOT site design is the primarily factor for getting users to your site. My site gets more traffic than all the other phparcadescript based sites combined and it's still using the basic layout.

You are 100 percent correct my young friend. I have been trying to teach that to people for years.  Keeping your site simple will lead to success...google.com is the prime example of that.

Addictinggames.com is a great site. They do not show thumbs for everygame to limit loading time which is a great advantage. Keep it simple

Also, Addictinggames.com does show game descriptions when you click on the game. Ex: http://addictinggames.com/ballgame.html you will see game descriptions on the bottom.

Addictinggames.com is a multi-million dollar site making  millions dollars a year. They could afford to buy any site design you have plus better. They don't do that because the most important is content! and they have that.

Yes, their site is good for getting on google.... as it text, title, link google prefers simple site as its simpler for it to index.

That DOES NOT MEAN! that the visitors like it, look at miniclip .. How much more money does that make compared to the site listed above. That has a great design, also very well listed on google.

You are in someways correct, thats why my website has lots of content. From Funny Videos, to illusions, to soundboards and back over to Fight Videos. Not forgetting the main thing games.

I also make my own content in my spair time, im wokring on something that most entertainment websites will want to put on their websites, and i will allow them to as well. As this gets me visitors as they see the ads.

So NuWeb.. Great content, with the added bonus of Great Design.. = Great Website
So taht site.. Great Content, minus the userability as you dont know what your going to be able to play = ok website

Miniclip is NOT popular because of it's design. Miniclip is popular because of it's content (games)
Miniclip has great design...BUT you forgot to mention that Miniclip has the best content on the web! The content on Miniclip is so great that every Arcade site on the web links to there content. If Miniclip had horrible content I guarantee you that it would not be popular. You see...the content comes first the design comes after that. Shockwave.com is another great looking site...but it also has great content.
