Well, since lots of people seem to have questions these days i decided i would put together a FAQ to help you guys out! (All questions are answered to the best of my abilities)
Question : Can i trust you guys with my information if i purchased an install?
Answer : Yes! You can definitely trust the PHPAS staff with your information, why else would they have such a great reputation? And what would they really do with your hosting info, they have better stuff to do with their time.
Question : Are there mods for the script?
Answer : Yes! You can see some of the verified mods at :
http://www.phparcadescript.com/forums/index.php/board,64.0.html There may not be many, but I'm sure more will be released in the future.
Question : is this script still supported? Most of the posts i see are very old!
Answer : Yes! This script is still very well supported and updated occasionally.
Question : Does the script support multiple languages?
Answer : I beleive the script can support multiple languages but may not be very understandable because it is translated by google. It is suggested that you translate the whole script by yourself, i know this may sound very time consuming but trust me, it sure it worth it in the end.
Question : I don't know much html/ php/ sql stuff, will i be in over my head in this?
Answer : Definitely not! The script is easy to use and setup, it will also be a great learning experience for you for as you continue to maintain your website and update small things, your knowledge will increase! Also, for any website it's not the website that's the hard part, it's setting it up that can be a real challenge.
Question : I'm new to making websites, where should i start? (Hosting, Domains, etc)
Answer : Don't worry, even if your new to making websites PHPAS is a great option. It's highly recommended to go with hostgator shared hosting, but if you're more advanced or looking for a bigger challenge you could find yourself a vps or a dedicated server. To get a domain name, i suggest namecheap.com. Using namecheap you can buy domains through your paypal funds for as little as 7.81$ for a .com domain name! It's an excellent choice.
Question : How easy is it to modify the template to my needs?
Answer : The script in my eyes is very easy to modify to your need. Many people who don't have more than the basic html knowledge have been able to make enough modifications to the template to suit them. However it is always good to have atleast some basic PHP knowledge as it will help in the long run.
Question : How much space will i need to host the 2700+ games?
Answer : You will need a MINIMUM of 3 gigs, but you should be able to find hosting that offers much more.
Question : Are there any adult games in the gamepack?
Answer : In the 2700 gamepack, there is around 20 games which may contain adult material. These are in a separate category and can easily be removed!
Question : Other than mochi games, are there any other auto game submitting features?
Answer : Not at the current time.
Question : Can developers submit their own games?
Answer : Yes they can, in the script theres an area where users can submit their own games.
Question : How many templates do i get when i purchase the script?
Answer : You get 4 templates with the script plus 1 free one to download from 8hourarcade.com
Question : I installed the script on my site , all other functions are working good except the section of arcade where it says; \"select a game\". it has an error message: \"cannot open file\" under it. How can I fix this error?
Answer : Go to your admin site configuration and set CHMOD to OFF.
