Hey All,

I want to start up an arcade, and I was going to just use SMF Arcade, but I wondered if there was any good stand-alone arcade scripts out there, so I searched for PHP Arcade Scripts, and this one as well as some others popped up. But this one looks just amazing, especially for the price, blows me away if its all real.

Anyway, I have a few questions I hope some of you can help me out with.

1.) What are the server requirements for the arcade? I'm guessing just PHP and MySQL, but is there anything else? (And which versions of PHP and MySQL?. . 4, 5, or both?)

2.) So if I buy the script now for $30, I get v4 beta, or v3? Or do I get to decide? And then whichever version I choose I can upgrade to the non-beta v4 for free?

3.) I also get 2700 Games for my arcade for free? Really?

4.) Does the arcade save scores? It's not a huge deal, but I'm wondering if registered users of my arcade would be able to save their scores?

Thanks. Smiley

We have been around since 2005, and have 3 years of input from our customers put into the script

You are correct you can use php 4 or 5

We are about to come out of Beta and it will be 45.00 and include 2700 games, and you get your choice of v3 or v4, just so one or the other is run on a domain registered for phparcadescript.

We do not keep track of scores on the games.

Buying this script entitles you to a lifetime of upgrades, great support, full access to the forum, where you can do link exchanges, get advise , mods that come out , etc.

There is not better script out there, anyone that has had phpAS knows its the best of the best

Thanks for your interest

Rick

rkaiser has answered it all but I wanted to add something else on;

If your looking to allow members to save scores not many scripts support it, it is due to the fact that most games on arcades are copyrighted and the owners permission would be needed to add highscore functionality. If you make your own games though, you could always add that in if you had the knowledge on how to do it.

I would really like to see if there is a way to have a "high scores" list of sorts on this.

konsort.org has an arcade that does support it...the reason why I am here, however (I used Konsort.org's arcade) is because of two reasons:

1.  Konsort.org's arcade is glitchy and very unappealing to the eye.
2.  phpAS is cheaper and looks better.

Wouldn't you think that a high score list is important in an ARCADE though??

Unfortunately no it is not important in an arcade. Read my previous post for an explanation as to why. In additon a lot of games have thier own built in high scores now, there is no way for you to do anything without editing a game, which is ILLEGAL. Also I have spoken with MANY other arcade owners who bought scripts for just that highscore functionality that PHPAS doesnt have, they ALL said it wasnt worth it. They never use the highscore feature as its limited in the games that support it. In conclusion its not worth it at all.

Yeah, most if not all games dont even include the swf .fla for editing.

Also, high score games/systems are 99.9% useless as any webmaster will tell you.
