Hello Vlad,

To be honest with you, I'm not so sure about VPS hosting as we have never used this. I would recommend taking a look at webhostingtalk.com for good tips on this as there are no better place for hosting issues than this.

If you decide to go for a dedicated server, I can wholeheartedly recommend http://hivelocity.net/ We have two dedicated servers with them and their service is top notch!

i think a dedicated server will be too much for start ... but i may be mistaken.
Do you always use a dedicated server for PhpArcadeScript (what about Shared Web Hosting)?

Do you have statistic based on number of monthly visitors?
For example... portal with 0-1k visitors better to use this type of server,
1-10k -- ...
10k and more -- dedicated server (with parameters)

Hi Vlad,

The statistic would vary too much to be accurate due to the difference in size for all games. While one arcade might have games that average 200kb in size, the next arcade might have games that average 5, or even 10mb in size. the load for these two arcades would be highly different.

On average though, I would say that for small to medium arcades shared hosting are in most cases enough, and the shared hosting with Host Gator are usually very good. They have several options to choose from, and they are very easy to upgrade, so while your arcade is growing, I think this would most probably be sufficient. Unless of course you plan on having large games, or have means to drive much traffic to your arcade instantly, then you might have to look at the higher end right away.

I am very weary to recommend any VPS as we have never used them with any company. Webhostingtalk.com should be able to direct you to the right spot here.
