I thought I'd go ahead and put one of my personal arcades for review: http://www.onlinepuzzleworld.com

It's using a heavily modified version of phpAS v4.0 with some jQuery and a little bit of this and that hehe.

Let me know if you have any comments on it, I'm very eager to hear your opinions.

The layout along with the ad placement are well integrated.  I'm not overly fond of the tan/skin color but it does blend well with the present background ad.

You should consider releasing the template as an extra addition to the already available templates for phparcadescript (the current available templates are old and tired now) or as a paid option.

Overall it looks quite nice.  Well done. Smiley

Thanks for the comment.

Actually, if you see next to the random games in the header you see it says "select" clicking there will allow you to choose other color schemes Smiley

There are some new standard templates coming, or at the very least a new single default template that is up to date and better looking (in this case the old ones would still be available). They might be coming in the later 4.x range or with v5, it haven't been decided just yet. As of now we're still working on v4.1.2. The one used on OPW will unfortunately not be possible to run with the stock phpAS as more than half of the original coding have been stripped out *oops* hehe. It was a project to see a little bit what could be done with the core, and whats needed to make the templating easier to do.

Doh!  I must of been having a blonde moment... and I ain't no blonde. LOL!  I see it now though. Grin

I'm happy to hear that there is at least one new template coming in the future.  I look forward to seeing it.

Very nice... Site is pleasing to the eyes... How did you add the background image... I have worked with my site code and simply cannot get it to cooperate with my modifications... I'm looking to elevate my site visually so that it pops to my visitors... I just can't seem to get over this one hurdle.

Thank you :-)

Very nice, fast, clean layout! What is the site skins ads being used? CPMStar?
The theme color selection is neat, but on my screen using FF6 and IE9 it wraps around to the left hand side below the title rather than sticking on the right, might want to check the padding sizes, etc.
Overall quite like your puzzle games site. Nice work!

Sorry about the delays in responding to this post, I completely forgot about it.

Michael:
I'm guessing you are referring to the site skin? It is the siteskin offered at CPMstar.com.

Pguo:
No, this is a custom template we designed for this project only.

PlayGamesArcade:
Yes, the siteskin is CPMstar. Thank you for letting me know about the issue with the selector getting kicked down below the random games, its a padding issue indeed, gonna have to get tha looked at Wink

At JanArve:

Jan, your statement : "It's using a heavily modified version of phpAS v4.0 with some jQuery and a little bit of this and that hehe" puts me in a very difficult to understand situation. Let me put it the way I thought it from the first time I read it: you create, improve and sell a php arcade script that you recommend us, your customers after all, that it is good. So, by that, you really trust your product and you want us to buy it (i already did that some long time ago). So, why didn't you use the standard PHPAS v4.0 for this website but, instead, you used a "heavily modified version of phpAS v4.0" ? Am I the only one who finds this weird ?

After all, you should provide us the best product possible but instead, this would be translated that, we, the customers, get a not-so-good or not-the-best-it-can-be platform, right ?

The answer to your question is very simple - at some point, we have to test changes - try new solutions and experiment to see what, where and how to improve on existing functionality. Some of the changes we made when having some fun with OPW are already part of what will become the next version of phpAS, so it WILL benefit customers.

OPW is testing some of what can be achieved with phpAS as it is, and where we could need some improvements. And - it is us having fun with our product Smiley

edit: some of the changes/fixes are also already in v4.1.

Ok, thanks. Are you doing something for SEO too ? As we all know, the Panda update really hit many online games websites. What do you intend to change or simply do regarding this matter? Do you have something planned ?

As the panda upgrade primarily impacted low quality link building there is little we as the supplier of the product can do in this regards. It is up to each webmaster to determine how to best build their backlinks, but quality over quantity is the way to go now, post panda.

There are some other aspects of the panda upgrade that we are taking into consideration in our development.

Here's a couple links regarding the Panda upgrade:
